The BHS FBLA members virtually attended the ND State Leadership Conference on March 25-26. They did a fantastic job! We had 4 National Qualifiers: Isa Schoenborn, Ava Thorenson, Hudson McLain, and Alexis Hunt. In addition, there were many others that placed in the Top 10. Congrats to Miss Walker and our FBLA crew!



On Monday, March 25, the 7th and 8th grade students will start the ND State Assessment. 7th grade tests include Reading and Writing and Math. The 8th grade students will complete assessments in Reading and Writing, Math, and Science. Please encourage them to do their best.
The Juniors will be taking the ACT on Wednesday, March 27.

The Class A Basketball All State Teams were announced today. Congrats to Carson Haerer and Kylie Simpson for being named to the 1st Team and to Kyra Beckman for being named to the 2nd Team. Way to go!




Students in Mrs. Bullinger's, Mrs. Statz's, and Miss Hicks classes attended a virtual author visit with Sherman Alexie. They previously read some of his work in their classes and had a Q & A. He also shared some of his new poetry with them.



Reminder: Spring break begins Wednesday March 13. There will be no school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!!! Classes will resume Monday March 18th.

Mrs. Palmer had 5 students participate in Battle of the Books 2024. Their book club met twice a week during 8th hour to read and discuss the list of 16 books. The final competition took place on Tuesday and Thursday with Charly taking home 1st Place. Battle of the Books members were: Matt, Kyler, Ally, and Charly (not pictured Kai).


Mrs. Heilman and 21 students attended the State DECA Conference in Bismarck on March 3-5. They did amazing and had a great time! BHS had 5 qualify for Nationals in April: Michael, Aanya, Morgan S., Ava, and Phoebe. Congratulations!

Congrats to our February Students of the Month: Ally, Morgan S., and Jonas! The trait for the month was Leadership. Way to go!


We hosted the Region 2 Academic Olympics today. Congrats to our team members Aanya, Lydia, Michael, Phoebe, Alex, and Alexis)! We didn't make the lightning round, but they competed hard. Thanks to all who worked so hard to make it possible!




Congrats to Carson and Bud for being named to the All Region 3 Team! Carson was also named the Region 3 Senior Athlete of the Year! Great job guys!


Congrats to our Region 3-3rd Place Bottineau Braves! They will play in a State Play-in Game on Saturday at 3:00 vs. Beulah in New Town. If they win, they will qualify for the State A Tournament! Go Braves!


Congrats to our BHS Band! They were given three stars from the judges at the Regional Large Group Contest at MSU. To top it off, they were awarding the Outstanding Performance for the day as well! Way to go Mrs. Thorenson and the BHS Band!


Congrats to our 3rd Place Braves! They will play Saturday in New Town at 3:00 in a State Play-in Game. Opponent is TBD. Go Braves!
