These BHS students performed at Region 8 small group festival in Minot. They represented BHS very well. We had 45 total instrumental and vocal entries and earned 28 star ratings with 5 Outstanding Performances. 47 BHS students will be attending state music on May 4th in Bismarck.
The BHS band and choir students will be competing in the Region 8 small group contest on Sat., 4/13 @ Minot State. The bus will be departing from school at 7:00am. Parents are invited to attend. The schedule for the event can be seen at the following link:

Mrs. Monson's Science Olympiad team competed at the Regional Competition yesterday at DCB. The B team qualified for state on the 20th.
The C team did well in individual events but did not accumulate enough to qualify for state. They had a great day! Way to go!

The BHS FBLA members virtually attended the ND State Leadership Conference on March 25-26. They did a fantastic job! We had 4 National Qualifiers: Isa Schoenborn, Ava Thorenson, Hudson McLain, and Alexis Hunt. In addition, there were many others that placed in the Top 10. Congrats to Miss Walker and our FBLA crew!
On Monday, March 25, the 7th and 8th grade students will start the ND State Assessment. 7th grade tests include Reading and Writing and Math. The 8th grade students will complete assessments in Reading and Writing, Math, and Science. Please encourage them to do their best.
The Juniors will be taking the ACT on Wednesday, March 27.
The Class A Basketball All State Teams were announced today. Congrats to Carson Haerer and Kylie Simpson for being named to the 1st Team and to Kyra Beckman for being named to the 2nd Team. Way to go!
Students in Mrs. Bullinger's, Mrs. Statz's, and Miss Hicks classes attended a virtual author visit with Sherman Alexie. They previously read some of his work in their classes and had a Q & A. He also shared some of his new poetry with them.
Reminder: Spring break begins Wednesday March 13. There will be no school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!!! Classes will resume Monday March 18th.

Mrs. Palmer had 5 students participate in Battle of the Books 2024. Their book club met twice a week during 8th hour to read and discuss the list of 16 books. The final competition took place on Tuesday and Thursday with Charly taking home 1st Place. Battle of the Books members were: Matt, Kyler, Ally, and Charly (not pictured Kai).
